The Louisiana CIT Advisory Board aims to partner first responders, behavioral health providers, hospitals, courts, individuals with lived experience, and community partners who are dedicated to implementing CIT Programs throughout the state.
• To aid in bringing CIT to all law enforcement agencies across the state.
• To educate departments on the benefits of CIT, including officer safety, reduced use of force, reduced liability through following best practices.
• Link departments without the resources to establish CIT to agencies with existing CIT.
• To advocate for state- wide best practices in line with Crisis Intervention Teams International (CITI).
• To advocate for state CIT laws, establish state funding, and continue to progress CIT across the state to improve crisis response outcomes.
